Sounds like you are getting there. I remember how we were blindsided several times when we bought our 15 year old MH in 2007 and it was just a simple MH with a gas engine. They are not like trouble shooting an old car that was built per the specs in the printed maker's shop manual. After time we learned what parts had been used in the house and with help from here repairs got easier.
To this day if we have something done at a shop we have to tell them in detail how things work.
