I recently purchased a new 2015 ACE motorhome from Camping World in Valdosta Ga. I have owned a fifth wheel before and a toy hauler, but not a Class A. When I use the auto leveling system the jacks go down smoothly and level the unit, however when I retract them (auto) it feels like the unit almost falls down. If you are not ready it can be kind of scary. Is this normal, it happens ever time, whether on hard surface or soft it does this. As this is the only class A I was ever in I am ignorant concerning this matter. Any help would be appreciated...Mark

Thats normal. Mine feels like the tires went instantly flat when retracting them. Think they would have some type of valve that would let the pressure out real slow so that didn't happen

Start the coach prior to letting the jacks down, it will allow the air ride pump up to lessen the effect.

I don't know what type jacks you have. With mine I sometimes wonder if the MH is leveling. I feel little or no movement when leveling or retracting. If mine did what you say yours are doing I would have them looked at.

Mine feel like yours do Hardtime01 but, I have also found that there is less "THUD" if you are fairly level before leveling. The further off the ground the levelers lift you the more the let down. ;)

Mark, are your levelers hydraulic or electric? Do they have springs attached to pull them up?

Ours are hydraulic and it doesn't feel like it 'falls down'... it certainly goes down quick. We also have the air-bag leveling which I really like better, that way, I KNOW that the tires are firmly planted at all times.

Mine has some hard drops as well sometimes & have others have said, I think it's the amount of height the jacks extend along with the amount of level. It is normally a pretty loud pop when they initially release pressure.

IF you have HWH jacks, you can install 4 velocity check valves to minimize that sudden drop. Do NOT have HWH, then that is the best it will do. Doug

The weight of thousands of lbs pushing down on the hydraulic ram when the pressure holding them in place is released causes them to retract quickly, it's normal . And the severity depends on how high your jacked the coach up. Nothing more severe than going over a speed bump a little fast . I always tell the DW. When I release the jacks so she's prepared
