Question on fuel consumed by our generator AND ??

While camping at Sebastian Inlet we could always run our generator during the day to help keep the coach cooler & we are curious how much gas it will burn per hour or per eight hours, or whatever time unit ?
Our generator is an Onan 7.0 KW
Our front a/c unit is a high profile w/heat pump
Our rear a/c unit is a standard high profile high efficiency unit
Our unit is about 32' long.

And, can we run the generator while plugged into the available shore power plug in pole ? Or should we unplug our unit from the pole before starting our generator ?

Thanks for your comments & or suggestions

  • Ha, just looked at your profile... is this one a keeper?:B
  • We looked & found no info on fuel consumption for the generator ?
    Any other suggestions ?
    Thanks !
  • It may be different on each coach but on my coach when I am plugged in to shore power and start the generator, the generator takes preference. In other words, I am not using power from both sources but ONLY the generator until I shut down the generator and then the shore power takes over again. I do not have to disconnect the power cord because the transfer switch takes care of switching power as needed.

YOu owner's manual should have listed the fuel consumption at both no-load and half load.. For A/C on yoru genny, half load is about right.
