Be sure to check for water leaks around the fridge. My Maytag ice maker quit working recently and the problem was that the line between the control valve and the ice maker had come loose. It does not leak a lot, just the amount required to fill the ice maker. I could hear the ice maker dry cycle and then could see a puddle under the fridge. I had to pull out the fridge and reconnect the line. I don't believe that it was installed properly at Maytag and will stay now. The only difficult part of the repair was getting the fridge out of the cabinet.
