Rain Leak Under "Bedroom" Carpet

We've been on the road for 3 months, and have had very little rain. Last night we had a steady rain, and this morning woke to wet carpeting between the twin beds. We were on a very slight slant toward the rear. I presume it's rain water, but how did it get under the carpeting? It's wettest toward the middle and has seeped toward the rear. Also, I'm still on the road; how can I dry it? Does anyone know what's under the carpet?
  • I was thinking maybe it was leaking around a skylight, vent or other opening on the roof.

You found the problem, that's all that matters.

I think warm air is better for drying carpet. But any moving air is better than none.

I'd still find a car wash and vacuum as much as possible. It will dry the carpet quicker.
  • Thank You! You got me thinking better. My roof is one molded piece and shouldn't leak, so I thought maybe it didn't have anything to do with the rain. Sure enough, I looked at the water pump and there was a tiny leak in the clamp. Because I was on a slant, the water leaked toward the rear and under my carpet. I've tightened the clamp and think the leak is repaired, but now I still need to dry the carpet. I've been blowing a space heater on it - is cool air better than warm? Thanks again!
  • Find a self serve car wash and vacuum as much of the water as possible.
Then run your A/C or drive with Windows open if possible.
There is probably foam under the carpet, then plywood.

Check your roof. Something is leaking and it may be running down inside a wall onto the floor.
