The OP was using a bunch of DC power, no surprise he came up short if his batteries were less than 100 percent. The squirrel cage fan of the furnace is by far the biggest DC draw in the coach. We never watch TV/movies, only use a couple of lights for an hour or so for reading, journaling etc. Usually driving a few hours recharges the house bank nicely. Typically I run the genny for an hour or so on the third day, more to exercise the genny than out of any serious need for more DC power {we only have 85 hours on our 6-year-old genset}.
I hard wired a DC cigarette lighter outlet in the center of the coach coming directly off of the house bank but with a 10 amp inline fuse. We use this to charge phones, Blue Tooth speaker, laptop, camera etc using my trusty dusty 120-watt cigarette lighter plug inverter for AC chores {the only one in the coach}. Bought it new in 1994 for use on my boat for $100 and it still works just fine.
We spend about 13 hours a day outside depending on the season so with our reduced DC consumption we have no need for LED's or solar.
