Gundog, I have used a CAP overnight and we only have 2, 6 volt batteries. It did not have much of a drain on our system. As for heater use, we leave it off at night, but turn it on in the morning to warm it up. I have disconnected out 2,500 watt inverter because is dragged down our batteries too much when not in use. When we watch TV/DVDs/Sat, we use the generator and the furnace for heat until we go to bed. We have a 2,000 watt inverter gen we use because it runs 6 to 8 hours on a gallon of fuel, our onboard gen uses .9 gallon per hour. Of course you have to suit-up to go outside and shut it down, but it is really not that big of a problem. Like was mentioned, try dry camping in your driveway, if its allowed, to see what loads you can and can't use. You really don't need a battery load tester, use a hygrometer. It will give a better idea of each cell of the batteries.
Good luck.
Good luck.
