- kokopelli40ExplorerI have the 7710 and am very disappointed in it. No after purchase service department. the charge cord is only good for about nine hours then shuts off, on my third expensive charge cord.
- Teacher_s_PetExplorerWe have the 7720, it worked flawlessly on our 11,000 mile trip to Alaska this past summer in our 22' B+. A bit a learning curve, compared to our old, old, 1st generation Garmin Nuvi, that we use in our toad, but we like it. After several months use, we feel it was a very good purchase for us. However in our 40' DP, which has a computer tray, I prefer to navigate with my netbook and Delorme Street Atlas, as I have for the past 9 years.
- DieselgemExplorerI have a 5510RV which replaced my Garmin 7200. That was a mistake.
- ctpresExplorer7710 is JUNK. Screen freezes once or twice a day requiring system reset. Not fun in a big city.
Screen difficult to see in bright light, display worthless at low sun angles - like AM an PM.
Drops satellite signals and stops functioning
12v charging cord does not work all the time
Audio out jack does not work most of the time
Docking PC based software painfully slow
Last system update keep failing after one or two hours. Finally,a couple days later, finished but it took over four hours on DSL.
Have read reports that 7720 not much better. - Not_a_ClueExplorerWe have the 7710, no problems. like it.
- TripleEExplorerHad the 7710 but after 3 years of good service it bit the dust. Started freezing, requiring many resets, couldn't get any computer to recognize it to update the software, finally just died. No service available from RM. For that kind of money I expected better. My 9 year old Magellan still works pretty good. Just bought the Garmin RV 760, will report on it after I use it a bit.

x2. Hated it. Was on my second (first one died) and not only does it do all of the above, it totally misses turns into some major rv resorts and takes you out of the way. Stick with a company that knows how to build a GPS. Got a new Garmin DZL and LOVE it. - KoopExplorerWe have the 7720 and love it. I've used all across the US, 6,000 miles so far.
- MRUSAExplorerI have the 7710. I was leaning toward changing to the the Garmin RV unit until recently. Just came off a 8500 mile trip and I was very impressed with the RM's features. The more I use it the more I like it. I did have a problem with the power connector, it had to be wiggled into a certain position or it would not work. RM made me a deal to upgrade to a 7720 at a reduced price so I am doing so. Goodbye Garmin, hello RM.

We have the 7720 and love it. Used this summer for trips from WA to SD and WA to CA. Takes a while to get it set up to your preferences (I had to turn off most of the verbal warnings--too bothersome). It has many more features than our Garmin Nuvi and is just as accurate. I LOVE the large screen--both driver and navigator can see it easily. Good luck in your choice.
