Rand McNally TripMaker

Anyone ever use it to try to plan trips and add to GPS? Looking for a replacement for S&T.
I can't even get it to accept a street address (can't find location error) in CREATE TRIP. It will only start with town names. Both start and stop addresses are over 10 years old.
  • What Rand McNally are you referring to? They had a program that has not been supported since 2002 called TripMaker. It's still one of the best for the kind of planning I do and still use it on a regular basis but it's so far out of date that it's now only good for basis rough planning.
  • What year is your S&T's? I have the 2013 and it works smoothly. I create a route, alter it as I need to, export to a GPX file, name file and save. I do use a Garmin that will import... connect Garmin to PC, copy route to Garmin GPX, unplug Garmin. scroll to import route and import file.. Works great, been doing this for a number of years, even with earlier S&T's.

  • I use S&T also for the same. I was just looking at some options since S&T is now done. No road construction updates and the maps will eventually get outdated.

The Rand McNally mapping I was referring to is their current model on their web site. Looks to be the same as the Good Sam planner. Seems to fall short of S&T in a lot of features.
