I use S&T also for the same. I was just looking at some options since S&T is now done. No road construction updates and the maps will eventually get outdated.
The Rand McNally mapping I was referring to is their current model on their web site. Looks to be the same as the Good Sam planner. Seems to fall short of S&T in a lot of features.
