Just had one installed and it is much quieter than old unit. In the Auto heat mode the unit will run the fan for six seconds and stop. This action may repeat several times with about forty seconds...

Thanks guys,
It is the inside fan that is coming on and off.
It may be just sampling the air temp. To determine if heat is required.
It is the first time I have needed the heat function.
