Well, after reading about everyone's electrical problems, I am starting to have a few too. Suspect my converter is shot. Got down low with a flashlight and read the spec sticker and it says 40 amps. Seems low to me based upon what I read on this forum, the year of the coach, and what is available at Camping World---45, 55,65,75 amp. Assume there is no problem with jumping up to higher amps. Any comments on an upper practical amp limit? Any tricks to removing and replacing?
Seems low to me too. I suspect upon further investigation you'll find it to be a 65 or 75 amp converter. Probably a WFCO 8875, {75 Amp}, as they were the ones Fleetwood was using on the PA and some other models about that time. They were not that great of a converter and not even comparable to todays converter technology.
If it were me I would look at and read about Progressives Intell Power with Smart Charger 9200 series. I went with the PD9270, {70 amp}.
On my 05 PA the Progressive was very easy to swap. Basically same size, no wires to add or cut. If you know which end of a screwdriver does what, You don't need Camping World.
