I was reading the Newmar Owners Manual yesterday and came upon this;
Responsible Use. Your vehicle is designed to be used for recreational or temporary living purposes. It is not designed to be used as a full-time residence or for commercial use.
My wife and I have not plans to use the Canyon Star as a "full-time residence" but we do plan to spend a few months or so each summer in it.
Why does it say its not designed for full timers, I don't get it?
there simply not designed nor constructed for 24/7 365 usage.therefore they limit their liability by declaring such
u need to get into a mid to upper level diesel pusher for full time usage. I seriously doubt any manufacturer installs a inferior inverter knowing the fridge will fail after 1.5 years
I have a 8 year old MH and no RF and yet it has a RS3000 True sine wave(best one)
Unfortunately, I have personal knowledge of this and in my case the manufacturer replaced the inverter with a RMS sine wave inverter as well as repaired the refrigerator and microwave. The manufacturer rep was very candid with me. He asked their engineering department and was told exactly what I posted. They intentionally installed a square wave inverter knowing full well that it would eventually cause the failure of the microwave and refrigerator. Their idea was that if the user only used the unit for a few "vacation" days a year it would last well outside the warranty period. This was to save a few hundred dollars on their MLO (Materials, Labor Overhead) to be able to keep the price competitive. This is one of the more common ways that these units differ from ones intended for full time use.
what was the year make and model?
