Could someone confirm what a pan drain and fill takes for the '98?
Off the top, the 15.9 quarts sounds like a complete replacement of fluid including torque converter. Even 8 quarts sounds like a lot for a pan drain and fill......I'd be careful about driving it until I got some sure numbers on this.
Correct the 15.9 is for the complete transmission, converter, and coolers. you wont get near this amount out dropping the pan.
