Ready to buy Fleetwood MH feedback please

I'm looking to buy a 2010 Fleetwood Southwind 32V. I thought the 32V means 32FT, but I guess it's really a 33FT. Any one had troubles with this brand of MH. Also will there be issues staying in National and State parks with the length. We will also be towing a small car.

Please post any pros or cons. Better yet suggest your favorite MH that is between 29ft to 32ft. Any sites suggested for RV rating guides? Anxious to hear back!
Thanks

  • Model numbers are close to, but not actually indicative of the exact length. My Itasca 32V is also 33 feet long.

When searching for my motorhome, I also looked at the Southwind 32V. Main reasons I chose the Itasca was fiberglass roof instead of rubber, I wanted Chevy 8.1L because doghouse is much lower to ground and easier to walk over to get to front seats, I didn't feel as crowded in the driver's seat.

Used to own an older 28' Fleetwood Flair, which was a mighty fine motorhome too.

I love love love the 32V floorplan. Can't imagine ever needing anything else. I looked at many floorplans when I was shopping. Always came back to that 32V!
  • Carla, Caan't tell you much about your possible purchase as mine is a 1990 27D. I love it and it's been relatively trouble free. All rigs have failures and problems, some rigs are failures but Fleetwood has been a perenial favorite. As far as getting into campgrounds, sure some will be a problem but most places have alternatives. My favorite 28 to 32 foot rig is Winnie Brave. Don't remember the years but there were some really nice floor plans. The ones I liked were built just before they went to 33 feet. Oh yeah, my 27D is 28.5, not a bad deal. We say it's a 27 foot model and we tow a Sidekick until next month when we switch to a Grand Vitara.
