Really bad news about our Trail Lite

Took our 2007/8 RV in for some checks, and repairs before our planned trip to Williamsburg. Just got home with some really bad news - mold! We have been very careful about having the seals checked and tried to stay on top of things.

He suggested we might want to have it pressure tested. But that won't tell us how bad it is. The bottom line was to just trade it in at a dealership and buy a new one.

What has been your experience?

Your question should be, 'Is the dealer really going to take a moldy trailer on trade and then sell it it someone or send it to auction?'
I seriously doubt a dealer will take it on trade and scrap it.
  • Silly question time, how does this dealers know there is mold? Did he show it to you so you can see it for yourself? I agree with Walaby. Take it someplace else and see what they say. Our MH had a bad window leak that was not taken care of by the PO and it destroyed the paneling and a couple of boards around the window. I repaired it and there was zero mold problem.
  • Are you sure you actually have mold and this isn't a ploy, by the dealer, to get you to trade it in for a new one?

That would be a pretty low, unethical thing to do, but......

  • One of the main reasons I wont let a dealer near mine. I work on it, I know what and if there might be a problem.
