Rear furnace no heat

Today I got my rear furnace out of my Allegro bay. I want to get out of the heat for the summer and may need it. When I tested it in the coach the unit worked fine except when it tried to light it never would. When I pulled it apart I found the orifice was blocked by 3 dead bugs. They must have crawled in and couldn't get out. I found and went thru the troubleshooting steps for my furnace, which helped me to pull it out and dismantle it. But who would think of looking for dead bugs in the jet?
  • It is a common problem. They make snap on screens which keep that from happening. You can buy them at any camping RV supply store including Camping World. They come in a set of two and they are round, convex, inexpensive and cover the openings nicely. They also keep dirt dobbers out.

I have screens over every intake and vent on our MH. Back in MD stink bugs were horrible and would get in every crevice they could. Including the jet for the water heater.
