Does the controller have an auto resetting breaker? If so, change it. The auto resetting breakers do "wear out". Been there, done that. Available at most any auto parts store.
x2 - BudFoster37ExplorerDang, I must be losing it. I don't remember commenting on this in February.
- OldBlackWaterExplorerMy slides stop moving sometimes, too, and with each time that I press the button again it continues to move but a little more slowly. I found that starting the engine gave it plenty of power to move smoothly and quickly whenever that happens.
- BudFoster37ExplorerThe bedroom slide on my 2005 Fleetwood Southwind does that opening and closing. I have to keep repressing the button.
- BudFoster37ExplorerMy rear slide does that but I know it is a bad switch. If I put my finger on the right spot on the switch it works fine.
- RaymonExplorerInteresting. I did not know about the synchronizing. Never too old to learn. Thanks.
- spotrotExplorerThe Powergear slides that use two separate motors have a sync feature that stops the faster slide momentarily to allow the slower end to catch up so that the slide doesn't get too crooked going in or out.
It looks like the slide is stopping but it is only one end that is stopping. You can test this by pushing on the slower end and seeing if then the slide moves continuously.
The jerking can be caused by greater friction on one end or just a slightly weaker/slower motor.
Mine has done it since new, 6 years and 50k mile. - ughExplorer

This exactly what happen to me. I replace the auto resetting breaker and it worked fine in my old fifth wheel camper. You can test this by bridge the two posts to bypass it and see if it works smoothly. If it does, then you need to replace it. - DSDP_DonExplorerDoes it do this when connected to shore power or with the generator running?
- RaymonExplorerI have had 3 slide systems. For each one to operate properly, the batteries had to have a high level of charge. The battery terminals and clamps need to be very clean. Sometimes these look clean but are not due to a light film. Once my terminals looked clean; after cleaning my slide work flawlessly. Other suggestions above all are possible solutions.
