Rear slide wont move??

Hi guys. So I have a confusing problem. We recently got back from a trouble free trip in out 2005 Newmar Kountry Star. Upon arriving home I put all 4 slides out to unload. I left the slides out for a few days and during that time I replaced both of the coach batteries. I then went to put the slides in and all would go in except the rear curb side. Nothing at all would happen when I pushed to switch. I found a blown fuse and replaced it. Now the green light comes on when I push it but nothing else. So I went out side and hooked up a direct 12v source to the slide motor and the slide went in. I can reverse the 12v source and the slide will come out. It sounds a bit different then it usually does when its under its own power, but it works none the less. I thought it might be the switch but it will run the other slides when I change it out so I know its good. I have checked every fuse, breaker, etc. I have tried while on battery and shore power. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or at least give me something else to check?? Any advice is greatly appreciated....I am at a loss.
  • Im still trying to figure out which one is actually the control box. There is a cluster of boxes in the pod under this slide. I am trying to narrow down which does what.
  • X2 what sailor said and if the boxes are close enough just swap cable plugs.
  • Before you replace the controller try swapping it out with one from another slide. This way you will be sure it is a controller problem and not just a loose connection somewhere.

  • Will do. Went through the trouble shooting guide that you sent me. It appears to be the control box/circuit board. Going to place an order for one tonight. Ill let you know how it turns out once I get the new board installed. And thanks again for the help.
  • Kevin,
Keep us posted on how you get the problem resolved. It may help someone else here who may encounter the same problem.
  • To my knowledge, each one of your slides should have a control box mounted (hidden) someplace nearby*. Perhaps the problem is within the control box for that particular slide?

    * In my Dutch Star, the living room slide controller is mounted to the wall in one of my lower Galley cabinets. The slide controller for my bedroom slide is mounted to the wall toward the bottom of my rear closet.

I have a pdf file from Newmar with regard to Troubleshooting Slides. If you PM your email address to me, I will be glad to email it to you.
