Rear View Camera - Install

I recently installed a Rear View Safety Camera (model# RVS-770613) sold at Costco. Below are pics of my install.

I ran cable inside the fiberglass rear cap. I had to remove clearance and tail lights to access inside for wire pulling. I used the yellow fiberglass wire pullers sold at Harbor Freight. They worked GREAT!

Routed camera cable down under chassis and forward to cab area. Removed step area plastic piece and brought cable into cab from that area.
Removed factory rear view mirror and mounted monitor on same metal mount that is glued to windshield. Rear View Safety sells a mount that uses this same OEM mount.

Routed cable from monitor up into plastic overhead trim, over to left pillar, into pillar area, then down below dash. I mounted the transfer box and all wiring under dash. I used an Add A Circuit and pulled power from the radio fuse located under dash.

So far....EXCELLENT. Pic is great, clear, and I can view all the way back behind my 17' boat. I used camera to practice backing up boat and I am amazed on how easy it is to back boat with this camera. I am VERY happy with results!!!!

  • Looks good! I installed the same unit in mine and love it as well.
  • Monitor come with the camera? I have a terrible picture in my monitor (different manufacturer).

  • Thanks for the replies!

Yes, it came with a 7" color monitor. Everything included for $199.99! 66' of cable to run from camera and monitor....more than enough for my 31' Class C.
  • How is the backup camera? Have you considered adding side cameras? Rear View Safety offers a great 120° Side Camera that can easily be integrated into this system.
