My once a year (in the spring early summer) detail cleaning I try and strip as much of the coating off as possible with reasonable effort. Otherwise you will get a buildup of the wax just like a floor.
I'll use a strong soap solution to stripe the wax. Found LA Awesome from the Dollar Store works pretty well mixed up in a gallon garden pump sprayer. I'll pretreat small sections before I go over with a white scrub pad and a solution of dish detergent. If the Awesome solution dries you'll have to retreat so only do small sections at a time in strips top to bottom. Stubborn dirt or such I'll hit with liquid Bar Keepers Friend. Usually only need a few light coats of Red Max to restore.
