Based on what you currently have:
2014 Redwood 36RL
2014 Ford F350 PSD DRW
You have more invested in that combo than you can buy a motorhome for.
Ya I know, isn't that the reality anymore. I really think that is why some of the more expensive 5ers are hurting these days.
Unless you're a cash buyer, it may actually be cheaper in the short run to buy that more expensive motorhome. In the long run you're going to pay for it, but in the short term you can get a much lower payment. That is unless you have a need for a one ton truck and are going to own it anyway. But if you want to use an existing car you already have as your toad, then a motorhome can be cheaper. You can get 15 or 20 year financing on a motorhome and the interest is tax deductible as a second home mortgage. Some of these nice trucks are in the $60k plus price range and you're only going to get maybe a 7 year loan on it. Then you'll get another loan on the trailer and only the interest on the trailer is deductible. So your monthly payments may end up being more for the truck-trailer combo. But remember that's only short term, as if you get a 20 year motorhome loan you'll be making payments for a looooong time. Trust me, I know!
