Removing 3m vinyl wrap

A google search says to use 3m citrus cleaner on the glue which is available at auto parts stores.

When I removed mine I used a plastic chisel and lots of GooGone. Took me 2 days. Paint underneath looked brand new when I was done.

I have tried everything known to man to remove glue residue. The top color portion of the decals came off no problem but the glue remained. I couldn't use the eraser wheel 'cause my decals were over paint that was NOT baked on.

I am also in the process of removing mine. I have tried several products and it is slow slow process. Let me know if you find something that works. I have used goo gone 3M adhesive remover and naptha and used carb cleaner which worked the best but you have to be extremely careful with it. I would never opt for the clear plastic garbage again.

You might try "Goof-Off". Available at paint stores. I've used it to remove the decal glue from boats. Just try a small area and see what happens. I did use some today to take the glue off a window sticker at one of my new houses. It came off instantly.

I too find that "Goof-Off" works a lot better than "Goo-Gone". Give it a go.

Using a heat gun makes the glue stick to MH. I removed mine with very little glue to remove by just starting at a corner and pulling a little at a time. I did it in the shade because the sun make the glue stick. The glue I had to remove was easy by using wd-40 on a rag. it wiped right off. try it without the heat and see if it comes off cleaner and easier.

The product we used, Crystaltek says to use heat and even suggests using the sun to help heat the unit up. Tried mineral spirits, MEK, and still didn't help it. I will try the other stuff and still will call on 3M for their suggested method. Should not be this difficult.

We did try pulling but it just breaks off in tiny pieces if at all. I am guessing this wrap has been on the coach for a good ten years and has seen alot of sunshine in that time and has baked on good.

Looking forward to 3M's answer. I finally gave up on mine.
