You are welcome Terry. Just to be clear, we always had just the cook top. I reconfigured the drawers to utilize the cabinet better. Originally we had 5 small drawers and a pull-out cutting board. I gutted all that and built 3 massive sized drawers that utilized the space in between the smaller drawers, and also utilized dead space to the back wall. Square inch of drawer space went from 837 sq. in. to 1557 sq. in. It nearly doubled.
ADDING: Here is a picture of a galley exactly like mine originally was. Consider this a "Before" picture. The utensil tray in the upper-left drawer is the same as the one in my top drawer.

Here is mine before I started. Note the drawers-behind-the-cabinet-door thing too. That was inconvenient.
