Replaced my Generator ... Help

You also have a noise problem.

OP already changed out his Onan for something else. There's no going back most likely. So, the challenge is to help him come up with something that will work to cool off his brand new generator.

I figure if a rad fan will keep my engine coolant below 1/2 temp mark on the gage, even with the A/C running and with it being 100F out, there's probably a fan assembly out there in a junk yard somewhere that will keep his generator cool.

Let's see what other ideas we can come up with. 'Cus that's all I got.

There is a reason a $500 generator costs so much less than an Onan. I doubt a fan can move enough air in a compartment to keep it running.

Visit any auto junk yard nearby and pick up a 12V radiator fan. If necessary, you can wire it with an Off/On thermal disk to automate it's turn on and off. They're not expensive. Might have to get creative where to put it in your generator space, but you should measure any potential spaces you have before picking one up.

Greg, you may be whipping a dying horse, or soon to burn up. The Onan had a complete enclosure and a fan the ran off the engine, to cool it. It was designed to be in an enclosure to begin with. You really need a generator that was designed for use in an RV enclosure.

Those generators are designed to run in open air . . . Not closed in like that. Need some kind of fan.

I have an Onan. I had a huge flywheel type fan tha blows the heat downwards. Maybe you could somehow rig a major cfm electric radiator fan to blow the heat out.
