OK- the MTI detector I wanted ( combo CO & Gas) wouldn;t physically fit in my hole as it required greater depth than I have- so I ordered a replacement same 30-442. it was under $40 shipped amazon.
I replaced the smoke detector with a combo smoke/CO.
the old CO is past it's date...I'll leave it there for now- if I loose any confidence in the combo smoke/CO, I'll get a dedicated CO detector- like a home type unit...10 year battery
All in I'm at under $80 now.
