Replacement radio for 2008 Ford E-450 chassis

klutchdust, I also have a 2008 Ford e450, Tioga 31m. I bought it used and the original radio had been removed and replaced with a cheap piece I did not like, which did not have a single button. Just a month or so ago, I found several original equipment radios from Ford, some new, some old, and some refurbished, on EBay. These have all knobs, like I like them, and had one with a cassette player, a cd player and MP3 connection, all in one. I am old school, so I like the cassette player, since I have music cassettes. It was selling for about $149.00
I was in contact with the company and was advised that all I needed to know what type of connections I had.
I did not buy it at the time, but I just looked again and there are prices ranging from as low as $105.00,

Had a Sony Explod in my other rig that had Bluetooth and worked like a simple radio should

The sound quality on our stock dash unit was poor, however a year ago it failed so time for an upgrade. We went with a Pioneer flat panel car DVD receiver without Sirius or Bluetooth. For portable music we can plug into our smartphone 3.5mm jack or attach a USB thumb drive.

We also chucked the poor sounding speakers at the same time and added a pair of Infinity Kappa speakers. Great sound with that combo.

One thing we lost that was in the stock unit was weather radio, but have a couple other sources along for that.

I try to listen to radio a lot here at home out in our workshop. I can hardly find a classical music station anymore (AM or FM) ... they're very rare indeed. What is this world coming too, anyway. :?

The radio Winnebago(?) or Ford(?) put in our 2005 E450 chassis motorhome has two knobs that function for the multiple functions of station selection, volume, bass, treble, balance, and fade. On the front of the radio it's called an "RV Radio".

I have no idea what company made it, but it works fine. It feeds a couple of speakers back in the coach, too, for great sound distribution throughout along with the cab speakers. The volume, balance, and fade controls can get all the speakers playing together for a pretty good facsimile of surround sound.

I plugged a cable into the AUX input on the back of the radio so we can have easy acces for piping other sources, using this radio's controls, into the entire speaker system. For instance, we can watch a movie in the RV and pipe the sound from it throughout the coach.

Winnebago installed a switch on the dash so this radio can be powered from the coach batteries or the engine battery.

The radio is a Jensen, it does not hold the clock or memory but it also does not have Sirrus. You can add an aftermarket sirrus radio thingy but then you have an external box hanging

around the radio area. The radio also selects stations on it's own and does various spooky things. Time for it to go. I would be happy with a volume knob.The stations, once selected, are just

a button push away. They call the radio Sirrus capable or something like that, I want sirrus ready so when I call them it comes on. If I can't listen to classic vinyl then forget it.

There are two power leads in modern radios - you need to find the "memory lead and connect it to an always on 12 VDC source. Then your radio will hold stations and the clock will stay current.

What specifically is wrong with your Radio or is it just a cheap radio and doesn't sound good. I'm asking because my ford Radio in my 2006 Winnebago Aspect works fine EXCEPT it doesn't hold it's memory for the clock or radio stations.
