I just replaced my Spacemaker after 11 years. I could not find the same model number due to its age but I did measure my old one and did some research and found an exact replacement with the GE Spacemaker Model PVM 1790. I purchased mine at Lowe's, at the time it was about the lowest price, 497.00 total including 6% tax and they accepted my old one. It was not much to replace, I removed the top trim and had access to 3 bolts. I unplugged, removed the bolts and the rear was on a pivot type set up which we just lifted it off the pivot and it came right out. I used the same mounting bracket on the new unit. You will have the option to adjust the blower fan to top or rear discharge, an easy task that is explained in the instructions. I would suggest having a helper to asssist in the lifting, good luck.
