I would also be interested in a recommendation by brand and model.
I had a replacement installed by a "car audio" place.
Total cost was less than $200.
It has all the features I wanted, including BlueTooth.
The PROBLEMS ARE:
Operation is confusing; each button does about 6 different things.
The last straw was when the battery was disconnected to clean. ALL the settings disappeared except the pre-set buttons. So far, I've had to pull the book out 3 times to get my settings back. GRRRRRRRR.
I'm getting too old to put up with **** like that.
Unfortunatly multi-functional buttons are now the norm, and you're not going to find non-volatile radios, or very few anymore.
My list of must haves were a little different:
- Must have Bluetooth both for speakerphone, and music from the phone. That includes internet radio, GPS, WAZE, etc.
- A real steering wheel remote ! This is a big deal in a class A where I don't want my eyes and fingers that far off the road. The remote I can glance at and know where everything is
-Sirus.... Have a lifetime subscription and gonna use it
-front panel USB Jack. I can plug in a low profile 64g flash drive and have almost 10,000 songs available
-a display I can see without staring at it. Big and easy to read.
The only radio that satisfies all this, especially the remote is the Pioneer. This is on my end of summer list to do.
HERE is the remote. The radio I was looking at has been discontinued (doesn't it figure)
BTW- Magnadyne sells a 1.5DIN to 1DIN adapter plate so you can install almost anything in that strange size slot
