Not sure what the concern was about "floating" floors in the other threads. It's really hard to know the story behind "floating floors" that don't work...whether they weren't diligent in the finishing or was it due to something else? Appreciate DIYers like yourself. Unfortunately, that's not something I feel confident about performing myself. Which is why we're attempting to get as many "facts" about what works and what doesn't - and why before we find someone to do the install! Thanks for the input and I look forward to hearing about the final product!
