On my outside porch light I found a 1157 dual contact bulb after I bought it.......... hmmm.......... Removed bulb and installed a 1141, but it would not work. Further examination of the socket showed that someone in the past had put a rather hot bulb in the socket (prob a 1156) and the electrical contact in the spring loaded plastic disk in the socket had melted its way LATERALLY thru the plastic till it was so far off center as to not make contact with the single contact bulb, hence the installation of the 1157 dual contact bulb.....

I ended up buying a new Bargman porch light exactly like the old one, and installing one of the flat panel 1141 replacements I showed in my previous post. Works great and gives me standardization with the other lamps. I cold have bought a bargman light made with an LED in it, but if it failed............

Look for 1156 LED's on E-bay/Amazon.. Get the fcolor you want (I too like daylight) and buy one or two.. NOTE teh vendor, if they ar good go back and buy however many you need.. My last order was 10, but was Warm White, I like Daylight or Cool white better..

Over the sink I had a florcesent fixture that gave me cause to buy many tubes.. Replaced with a roll (5 meters long) opf Daylight LED's from All-Electronics.. Very very happy with result.. (Did have to do lots of cutting and splicing to get 'em to fit inside the fixture but.. That is within my skill set).

Can not find the part number in teh AE catalog however today. Same LED's sold on Amazon.

All daily used areas in my home have LED lighting with 6000 light.
Only guest bedrooms still have older fluorescents in fan fixtures.
Love it, especially when electric bill arrives.

I would strongly suggest spending some time in a coach with LEDs.

This is only me, even the least harsh LEDs were way too bright. I've tried them all. Back to OEM, I regretfully went.

I just bought 10 packs on amazon. Be sure to watch voltages, some of them are for up to 12 volts, you need 12-14 volts roughly.

I use the exact same lights for my hallways and bathroom areas in my RV. I use smaller and less bright lights from Ebay above my seating and dining areas.

I bought initially few direct bulb replacement, but later bought on ebay a sack of those and at $1 a piece had lot of fun with them.
For old fluorescent fixtures I could fit 6 of them, for bed lights and closet lights - single panel does fine.
I like pure white at 6000k . Reading is much easier.
They come from China faster than some shipements from East Coast... less than 10 days.

Personally I prefer a natural/daylight color, not bluish, not yellowish, just a white light. Depends on the color and darkness of the interior partly. I bought these lights from an Amazon seller to replace my 1141 bulbs and found they work great. They are flat panel and the panel rotates in the base so after you align the bayonet base you can rotate the panel to shine down or however you like.

At first I bought two just to try out, I liked them so I bought a pack of 10 each from a different seller for a better price. I have three two bulb ceiling fixtures and one single bulb fixture in the shower. Also have a single bulb porch light.

I have done a rather extensive burn in and haven't had any diode failures yet.



I have about ten small "reading lights" and was watching a RVGeeks video on Youtube about LED bulbs (they have a series of about 6 vids on LED lighting) and saw they had the exact same reading lights as I do, so I bought the bulbs they used..... from M4, rather pricey but well made, much better than what others appear to be. All of the circuitry on the back is potted in epoxy to protect and insulate it, and they have a metal shell.

These replace the 10 watt halogen G4 base bulbs.

I prefer the warm white--color temperature 2700. Daylight is about 5500. A color temp of about 3000 is not bad. To my eye, anything more than 3000 is very cool and harsh.
