Why is it that (some) Class C cabover areas develop leaks, but the other "cabover-type constructions in RVs" don't?
For instance:
1) What's up with pickup campers? Part of them is cantilevered out "over the cab" ... why aren't they leaking like Class Cs?
2) What's up with fifth wheels? Part of them is "cantilevered out to their hitches" ... why aren't they leaking like Class Cs?. A fifth wheel should/must have way more stress on it's cantilevered section than a Class C due to so much weight of the fifth wheel being carried out at the end by the hitch.
Let me guess ... I'll bet TCs and 5ers do - but since most of us here spend our time in this forum area because by definition we have/had/or want a Class C - it just seems like Class C motorhomes are somehow "worse" in leaks in the frontal area than TCs and 5ers.
If TCs and 5ers have as many leaks in their rigs' frontal areas as our Class C rigs do (as I'm betting they do), what are the manufacturers doing about it? Why isn't the industry improving the leak-worthiness in the frontal areas of all three RV categories ... as you would think that the overall pressure on the industry to do so would be tremendous. :h
