They may. The thing is about C's, at least mine, is the molding and trim stand proud of the surface and dam the roof water. It sits there until it evaporates or finds another way off.
TC's and 5er's are independent of the cab and I don't believe they endure the same flexing that wears on a sealing joint of a C.
I would think aluminum framing would endure less damage if a leak would occur and if I ever tear into mine and find rot that is what I would replace wood members with.
