I've come to realize that the "plastic end cap" has secondary, considerable importance.
We talk about how a fiberglass end cap, Ron calls it a "Bucket" offers many less chances to leak, and that's true.
But the top of the cap can be molded to a curve, allowing the roof to BEGIN crowned at the front. C's without a cap require the material to come around the nose flat, so the roof has to start out flat. I can't be sure but I think that likely means that even at the rear, the roof won't be crowned as much as it could be if he crown started at the cap.
DAS26, You're saying your Winnebago has a partial "cap", a foot or so down the front surface. I call that feature a "Tiara" and only realized recently how helpful that feature actually is.
