You HAVE to release the tension on the slide room. If you do NOT, you will never get it out and installing the new one will be impossible. Just extend the slide in override mode about 1 inch. Then, take 2 or 3 people and manually PUSH out the slide where the defective motor is that 1 inch or so. Once you get it out that 1 inch, the Motor will be free to lift out. Doug
