residenial refrigerator locks

I know that Thor offers a refrigerator lock on their residential friges that works really well but I cannot find it for sale anywhere. I works on the whirlpool residential models and is a simple latch that mounts where the reverse door hinges would go. Does anyone know where it can be ordered from? Thanks for any help.

  • Still like my latch which has been on my fridge for about 10 years. Made by LAMP. Can't remember how to post a pic. Sorry.
  • I used these slightly modified window latches to secure our residential fridge doors.

  • The latches pictured above came standard on our 2016 Journey. They failed within 60 days. The other one pictured would work great, but I would have to pull the frig to access the top of the frig. The problem is that the metal skin on the frig is so thin that there is nothing for the sheet metal screws to bite. I posted on irv2 Winnebago forum and someone suggested using a marine adhesive/sealant in combination with the screws for positioning. It is 3M or similar name brand. It worked great. Sorry I can't give you the brand. It is in the freezer at home.

Winnebago uses a set of latched on the top of their Maytag (Same fridge just different name plate) fridges and you can probably get them from Lichstinn RV
in Iowa their the local Winnebago factory delivery dealer and carry a full parts inventory. The latches just screw onto the top of the doors and the fridge body. When I open the door I have to put my hand on the other door and PULL.

    yup and they work great.

I used these child safety door locks painted black. Ebay less than $0.50 each.
