my first motorhome and it's all so confusing. The fridge worked fine at home but when I got to the campground it got cold but then shut off. Now it won't start again. Was told it was probably the heat element. Any suggestions? Also when I leave the campground there is an alarm that goes off sounds like a smoke alarm and I can't figure out why it's going off. After I drive awhile it usually stops.

    The alarm could be the carbon monoxide detector, LP gas detector or smoke detector. Replace the batteries.
    Switch the refer to gas. See if it works. It is possible to have bad heating element but could be the selector switch. You would bneed to test the switch to see what functions are working.
    It appears that your refer is a three way. Running on 12 volts DC may not cool as good as 120 volts or gas. Use the selector switch to run on gas while traveling. Then switch to 120 volts when connected to shore power.
