Following a semi truck on the I-5 north of Los Angeles I realized the truck in front of me ran over a truck mud flap laying in the road. It became airborne and started rolling like a square donut. I couldn't avoid it but tried to pull into the left (center) lane.
The square rolling donut hit my front passenger side bumper then slipped under the front wheel where it slapped the first cargo door. It put a huge rubber mark on the bumper and a scratch on the cargo door. I was able to get the rubber marks of off of the front bumper and had some touch-up made mixed up for the two 3 inch scratches along the edge of the cargo door. The damage came from the metal piece that was at the bottom edge of the rolling square donut.
Other than that, I've missed a lot of stuff in the roadway. You just never know what is coming up next.
