Just wanted to share my experience: I had purchased an 1997 Roadtrek Popular 190 class B camper-van for about $14000, for sale by private owner
It had at least 3 previous different owners on the vehicle registry.
It was cheaper because it had some major flaws, such as rear wheel axle got damaged, breaks needs changing, and chunks of plastics cover got torn out on top an rear wheel. I spent about $1500 to get the essential parts fixed to be road drivable and fit for owner registration to the government. Then I found out it got leaky propane pipes (burnt out twisted lines near the stove), and the propane furnace also stopped working after about 4 months after purchase, so I stop filling the on-board Liquid Propane tank (below driver seat outside), and used an separate 20lb propane tank instead. I could never got the Onan power generator started (located at the rear outside below the backdoor with the exhaust pipe attached), so it must have already been busted before I bought it. At least I can still use it for dry-camping, the house battery does charge up whenever the engine is running.
The good part it got plenty of cupboards / storage spaces, and smaller than class A& C's so it's easier to park and drive.
