Rock chips on Jeep

I know of one guy who hauls his 2009 Wrangler Unlimited on an open trailer but he has a front guard that he put on his trailer to protect the Jeep so probably not an accurate answer.

Our Protect-A-Tow has done a good job of protecting two different toads for us so far. It only takes a minute to hook it up.

If the tires ARENT on hardstand....go easy on the speed.

I have individual mudflap for each set of dual and a one piece model all the way across the rear. 50,000 plus miles and not one single scratch on my Liberty. DUSTY for sure...but no rock chips in the paint.

Towed our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 22,000 miles and seem to have no real problems. We do not have a full length mud flap but do have extensions on the flap. Diamond plate about 4 inches above the ground.

Jeep is lifted over 3 inches.

Pogoil.

1. Get rid of full width flap.
2. Go bra-less
3. Tow-Defender or Protect-A-Tow
4. Never wipe off toad with a cloth without sloshing/hosing a bunch of water on it first.

Have full length mud flap that is about 2" off the ground.

Tow two different Jeep GC cars.

Very few road chips on either car. All are on underside of the bumper. No window damage. 68,000 miles of towing between the two jeeps.

Bought the Jeep new in 2002, have towed it with 2 MH's Still looks almost new. Of course I keep a good coat of wax on the front.

We don't have the full mud flap - just individual flaps behind each tire. We received no damage on our Jeep during our Alaskan trip and in the past 10 years of full timing. On the Alaskan trip we actually saw folks removing those stiff mud guards because of rocks being thrown.

This past fall we had an all-day drive on the interstate in heavy rain. Out of boredom I began watching RVs towing in the opposite direction. Those with mud flaps were having a high arc of water thrown at their towed vehicle. Those without a flap had a low spash of water. Interesting.
