One more time I vote for aluminium roof (when you have a choice).
My 1972 conversion still have roof in very good condition even I did not bother to check the caulk for last 6 years.
Just couple years ago I sold restored 1965 Airstream trailer. I polish the aluminium panels and that was all I had to do on the exterior.
I also found replacing damaged metal straight panels pretty easy. Curved caps on Airstream would be another story because they are no longer available for 50 years old units.
