- gboppExplorerOur 96 Southwind has the original rubber roof. Replacing it is not a normal maintenance item..
I would want to know why the roof was replaced. Check the RV for water damage. - Does the roof look replaced? A job well done? If so I would not worry about it. Maybe ask to see the receipt for a clue on what work was done and why. Some RV owners are a bit clueless and just follow dealer recommendations. Your judgement call if owner is hiding something but still the roof was replaced can't be all bad.
- ScottGNomadNot at all.
I traded in our 13 y/o RV and the roof still looked like new. He's lying to you. - 77rollalongExplorerthey should last a lot longer that 6 years, maybe if a tree branch has damaged it i could see replacing maybe part of it ...
- ol__yellerExplorer IINo, not a maintenance item. Rubber roof are warrantied typically for 12 years for defects. Replacement at 6 years because of an arbitrary requirement in someone's head is plain stupid. I think there were other issues and I hope you walked away from it.
