ALL they are stating is, IF you alter the roof, and it IS possible that that installation could cause a leak, they will use that to void any possible warranty if there is a problem in the roof area. The question you should ask FR is, IF an authorized FR dealer installs an aftermarket appliance on the roof, will the roof be covered under the term of the warranty. BTW, FR and almost ALL RV makers have NO 1 year warranty on roof and sidewall sealants. It is usually 90 days, and sometimes 90 days from when it was delivered to the dealer, NOT the original warranty date. It is up to the RV owner to do sealant checks every few months and seal if needed. READ your warranty and it usually states this pretty clear. Most OEM's also will void the sidewall delam warranty if ANY additional holes or items are cut and installed that is NOT Authorized by the OEM. The Dealer must get permission to cut any holes in the sidewall and it is usually denied unless it must be done to correct a manufacturing defect. Lets think of this. You buy a NEW house and Direct or Dish comes out and installs a roof mounted Dish. Then down the line you get a leak, you think the Home Builder (in reality it would be the Roofing Company) would honor the warranty on the roof? NO. Doug
