DID YOU SEE THIS PART OF THE WARRANTY???? Almost all OEM's have a disclaimer about leasing AND FULLTIMING and it states unauthorized modifications. That 90 days has to do with sealants and maintaining. They will NOT (unless the customer raises hell) seal gaps or spots on the exterior after 90 days. This is one of the reasons we dropped FR products years ago---lack of support and shoddy building. Doug
EVENTS DISCHARGING WARRANTOR FROM OBLIGATION UNDER THIS WARRANTY: Misuse or neglect, including failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance, unauthorized alteration, accident, and improper loading, use as a permanent residence, commercial use or leasing of the recreational vehicle, shall discharge Warrantor from any obligation under this Warranty.
Use your new recreational vehicle responsibly. Your camper was not designed to be used as a permanent dwelling, but for short-term and recreational use. If you intend to use your RV as permanent housing, it could cause premature wear on your appliances, furnace, water systems, carpet, drapes, upholstery, bedding and interior surfaces. This premature wear caused by permanent residency may be considered abnormal or abusive use and could reduce or in some cases void your warranty coverage.
Modifications to your RV, without written authorization from Forest River Inc., could result in reduction or loss of warranty coverage. Contact your dealer before making such changes
Doug,
I know that you usually side with the manufacturers but have you read my posts??????
I said that we had asked the FR dealer to install the Satellite dish on the roof of a brand new RV and they said that it would void the warranty. Even the cut and paste that you posted mentions CONTACT THE DEALER, which we did. The whole point of this post was that even if you contact the dealer and you want THEM to make the modifications needed to install a satellite dish on your brand new RV, it WILL void the entire roof warranty. All of the stuff that you posted about a permanent resident, full timing, or leasing, does not apply at all.
You mentioned that your shop had dropped Forrest River products so maybe this post will warn others, since I had not previously seen any post by you, or anyone else, about how they will void a warranty if a Satellite dish is installed, even if it is by their own mechanics.
