They are noisy in general, unless you have a ducted unit, which I doubt in a 97 Georgie Boy. We run the bedroom A/C when we are in the living room and run the living Room A/C when we are in the bedroom. Also use a fan to distribute the cool air to where we want it. That helps keep down the noise. But if you only have one A/C....
