Well his comments were in reference to actually seeing the damaged cause by water. That it's possible to get into the system in "heavy" rain while driving. He said some generators ride lower than ours on the MH and its been a problem with them on occasion. Water and electricity coming together doesn't mix so well.
I'm not a electrician or mechanic, so I can only speculate.It does sound logical. Besides he wasn't trying to sell me anything.
