- Kayteg1Explorer IIIn CA it is 65' and I heard the stories about CHP carrying tape measures with them.
Than in Oregon I see semi tractors triple pulling so it is going to be state to state adventure.
In CA also cargo trailer above 10,000 lb GVW require CDL. - caou_26ExplorerActually no I won't have problem with finding RV campgrounds. The ones that I stay at will accommodate up to 90ft. Another I just have to unhook the trailer.
- MarkTwainExplorer80' combined RV / trailer--
I suspect you will have issues in finding RV Parks that accommodate 80':(:(:( - caou_26Explorer40 ft RV 32 ft trailer 6 ft trailer tongue and 2 ft hitch on RV

Is that legal?
Just curious on your math, 40 and 32 is only 72 feet. Is the extra 8 feet all in the hitch? Have you measured everything? Usually the hitch is not 8 feet long. 72' is too long anyway, but the closer you are to the limit the less chance you will be checked. - msmith1199Explorer III have seen quite a few longer Class A's pulling trailers that clearly exceed the max length requirements. It is probably something that doesn't always attract the attention of law enforcement, but if you get in a serious accident you can bet it's something that will be checked.
- BlackdiamondExplorerTime to get a stacker trailer.

I believe that's what you have to do - get a permit. I heard of one fellow (second hand) who actually made up a measuring tape (the ones on a reel) and added an 8' section in the middle. When pulled over, he made sure it was handy to measure and show the officer just how long his vehicle was. If it's true, I would not want to be him when someone really looks at the tape!
Pretty good, a "fisherman's tape" - conceptumatorExplorerI believe that's what you have to do - get a permit. Probably not.
And I can tell you an overlength ticket in NJ was not cheap.
Depends on state if you can get permit.
If this was a one time move I'd go for it. Use only truck stops for getting fuel.
If not one time move I bet you get tired off pulling that around.
