RV Fire near Tampa, Owners OK

It looks to be a fire that started back in the engine compartment.

I missed this on my first read of your post. Funny! :B

Agree, glad they were OK, hate they lost the coach. RV fires never seem to end well.
  • I agree, it does appear to be an Allegro and the fire is concentrated around the refrigerator or rear brake area.
It is a little cooler down here but I doubt if they were running the furnace. Since they gave there names I figured that someone on the forum might know them and would be interested in the fact that they are OK, even tho they lost their coach.

That Allegro doesn't have a drivers door like the one on fire.......

Fine. Be picky. :B Here ya go. Paint scheme is all the same. Driver door is often an option.

  • Ivylog: How could you be a member of this forum for 9 years and not know of drivers doors? They were very popular in the 90's and 80's. Pace arrows had that option and lots of Tiffins had them as well.

  • Could have been stove top fire. Maybe generator.......maybe electrical
    Maybe from a lit cigarette.

Not ALL rv fires have anything to do with fridges.
They may travel with the fridge OFF

    Maybe water heater........furnace :H
  • I vote for an Allegro like this:

And here is another pic of the fire in an earlier stage. I vote for fridge fire.

  • My old HR DP has a driver's door, about all I can do is fall out of it.

I'm glad they got out ok. I've become somewhat retentive about installing automatic fire extinguishers as funds come along.
  • Yes, there are DPs with a driver's door. My friend has one with a Cat engine. It's about a 1997 model. The article did mention gas, but who knows.

I do not know of any DPs with a driver's door. Glad they and the dog got out.
