RV Insurance Coverage in Canada ?

Will call my insurance office tomorrow but just curious...do most RV insurance policies cover you on a trip to Canada ? We're heading to the Nova Scoti area for a month or so. I have National Interstate.
  • We have a policy with Geico we called our insurance agent and he told us were good to go just have proof of insurance, title and all pet records up to date. And no firearms!
  • You will be covered. You may call our agency and verify. 1866 417 1639.
  • Progressive sends me the Canadian non-resident coverage cards for the coach each year on request.
  • Check your existing insurance certificate. I called the insurance company last year and asked for Canada's certificate. They told me to look at my certificate. It already mentioned Canada. I was a little embarrassed for not having looked.:S
  • Progressive said I was covered boarder to boarder in Canada. I asked them last year when I was traveling in Canada. The also mentioned that the road had to either be paved or a state owned gravel road, before they would tow me anywhere.
  • Don't know about most RV Insurance Companies but the U.S.-Canada Border Information Web site states: The minimum liability insurance requirement is $200K, and U.S. motorists should obtain from their own U.S. Insurance Companies "a yellow Non-Resident Inter-Province Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card" which is accepted as evidence of financial responsibility throughout Canada.
  • State Farm didn't have any problems with Canada last year. It seems to me the Canadians wanted you to have a copy of the policy or something special with you. Your insurance company should know.
