RV park "age restictions"

What is your experience with this? Owning a 2002 40 DP in very nice condition and appearance; How much trouble will I have with "10 years" rules? I fully understand trying to keep junk out of your RV park, but 10 years? My 14 year old HR is as nice many much newer units I have seen. Planning a trip to SoCal and I keep seeing "age restrictions" noted. THX TB

It is there so that CG staff doesn't have to get into 'uncomfortable' situations should the need arise to NOT allow someone in.
"Sorry but we have a 10 yr. rule"

This explains the restriction perfectly. Rule posted and used for the discretion of the park/CG.

That is my plan, she gets newer with age. Most dont really care. Just a way of keeping repairs out of the park.
  • We are in a 10year old rule resort. Our alpenlite is soon to be 15 years old. Looks is everything. Chevman
  • I have an '02 and have never had a problem. Keep it in good repair and clean and you will have no problem

  • Don't worry, tell them it's a 2006 model. If you get drunk, rowdy and start throwing trash all over the place, then this is an easy way for them to throw you out. Behave and you won't have a problem.

  • Its arbitrary and completely subjective.

If you have an old jewel well polished they probably won't say anything. On the other side, a dirty or damaged unit might be refused.

I noticed there is an RV park in Lost Wages that only accepts Class A.

Nothing elite about me. If they don't want my business there is somebody else that does.
  • Some apparently are strict on this, notably the 'high end' class A only joints but most probably won't enforce it unless somebody shows up with an obvious derelict that is in danger of not being able to leave under it's own power. We travel with a ten year old tv and a 25 year old trailer, we have never been refused.
  • If a park has age restrictions, they don't want your business anyway. go somewhere else.
